I am a Chinese living in USA. I met my very first teaching monk 2 years ago in the Georgia Meditation Center in USA and started practicing the Dhammakaya meditation ever since. That was the biggest life changing point for me.

Teaching monk is the most compassionate person and most devoted monk I have ever met. He has followed Luang Phor and devoted himself to Dhammakaya temple for over 23 years. Everything he has taught me, which greatly benefited every aspect of my life is passed on by Luang Phor and taught by the Dhammakaya temple. He always told me that how lucky he is to have Luang Phor as his great master. I did not know anything about Luang Phor and Dhammakaya temple at that time, but just by observing how much wisdom, peace and happiness my teaching monk stably holds in his mind and can firmly rely on while moving through all challenges in daily life, I knew I am in good hands.

Half year later, when I visited the Dhammakaya temple in Thailand the very first time and have met some of the kindest and warmest people there, I knew I have found a great community, a group of people who inspires me and whom I can easily connect to. What touched me most was how happy everybody was at the temple and how much care they had for even strangers like me.

Although I never regarded myself to be a Buddhist, and really did not know much about Buddhism yet at that time, I felt an instant connection, comfort and acceptance.

After practicing  more meditation and learn more about Buddhism at the Dhammakaya temple, and most importantly witnessed how monks and my friends at this temple act in their daily lives -- how contributing they are on serving the people and community,  how focused they are on purifying themselves and bringing benefits to others, and how dedicated they are on bringing a world peace by spreading meditation regardless of people’s racial, religious , economical and social background, I fell deep love and grew high respect to this group of true Buddhists.

This group taught me by their action that Buddhism does not separate but only unites the entire human race, and it does not restrains, but only liberates our minds. As far as its core practice, the Dhammakaya meditation itself, I can’t even begin to describe how much it enriched my life and opened the opportunity for me to live my life to the most potential.

I have to say the best and luckiest thing that ever happened in my life is I met a great teaching monk and he taught me how to meditate in the right way and connected me to the Dhammakaya community.

The abundant peace, happiness and confidence that I can feel within me tells me the Dhammakaya meditation is the right way, and my life is on the right track.

When I started the great work of spreading the Dhammakaya meditation in USA and China and witnessed how much benefits others also gain from this practice, I was never so certain and so happy about the great meaning of my life.

I can’t image my life without the meditation and I feel the deepest gratitude towards the Dhammakaya temple, the great master and the teaching monks.

The Dhammakaya temple group is the most peaceful and happiest people I have ever got to know in life, I can’t image anyone in this world would not embrace them or be drawn by their positive energy.

This is why I was in complete shock when I first heard about the conflict between the temple and the Thai military government.

I can’t wrap my head around to understand why this country’s political leaders who are supposed to be the smartest people in this country are doing anything that is suppressing and damaging to this temple.

I have come to this temple 3 times in the recent 2 years to study meditation, and everything I have seen at this temple is about raising the human morals, and spreading happiness and peace to this world.

I always believed one of the most important reasons that Thailand is such a great country and Thai people have the most sincere smile is because this land is so blessed with Buddhism.

I often envied my Thai friends who can live so close to the great masters like Luang Phor and great school like Dhammakaya temple. I thought it’s only logical for the Thai government to give their full support to such a beneficial and positive social influence like the Dhammakaya temple.

When I saw the conflict developed to be physical confrontation between the temple members and the policeman, walls made of human bodies standing by the temple gates to guard their home against their own government, monks, women and children were hurt by the police force, weapons were used against unarmed citizens.

After I posted the news on my social medias, none of my friends in China and America can understand the Thai military government’s mad behavior.

We all considered Thailand to be the strongest Buddhist country in nowadays world and the Dhammakaya temple to be one of the strongest world peace advocators, and think it’s only logical for its government to support and protect Buddhism, one of the most important  social and cultural values and human assets this country holds.

But quite opposite, Thai military government is using violence on their own most peaceful Buddhist community.

For what reasons?

We have to question.

For money?

For politics?

Or for religion?

Whatever reason the government has, it already brought itself the biggest shame by using violence for achieving whatever purpose it holds.

Fortunately, I am very proud to see the Dhammakaya temple’s reaction to the whole chaos has been nothing but peaceful.

Non-violence protest and on-going chanting and meditation have been undertaken by the temple members as instructed by the great master Luang Phor regardless how unfairly their government is mistreating them.

I think this big contrast in behaviors has already showed to the entire world who is good and who is evil during this fight, and I believe the power of peace and justice will win as that’s what flourishes in people’s hearts.

I hope and I pray for this fight to be over soon, and no one more drop of tear or blood will be taken, and no more violence will continue in this beautiful country of Thailand.
